Every gamer I know has a favorite character... Someone who, for whatever reason, becomes more important to us, or more "real" in some way, than any of the other characters that came before or after. These are the characters that we're still telling stories about years after the game has come to an end.

This is Keirian of Dima, Quaesitor of House Guernicus, Magus of the Order of Hermes and the Alpine Tribunal, and he's my favorite. Of course... he was somewhat older when I played him. [grins]

The picture was the result of a challenge that I set for myself. I never draw kids and I rarely give anyone props, so I dared myself to do both here. I ended up with Keirian, my sharp-eyed Hermetic take on Sherlock Holmes as a frightened, ten year-old apprentice. Maybe he's just seen his first demon or his first ghost. In Ars Magica both are a common part of a magus' upbringing. At any rate, pious as he is, that crucifix probably didn't help very much.
